I had my account suspended for a few days for posting in the forum on a regional page that was not my region.
The thread content was not region specific and I didn't realize the source thread until after the hammer came down. PROBABLY BECAUSE Just discovered that Google image match will display your entire profile and all pics to the world, even if your profile is hidden.
A great username is a differentiator – a unique brand name – something that completely sets you apart from every other person on a dating site.

I'd used the same pic I had on Facebook and voila, click find my image and it brings up my entire dating profile (THAT I THOUGHT WAS HIDDEN FROM POF MEMBERS). THIS IS SO ABSURD THAT I THINK IT'S WORTH A LAWSUIT.
Plentyoffish dating forums are a place to meet singles and get dating advice or share dating experiences etc.
Most people take one of two wrong tacks when coming up with an online dating username:1) Putting ZERO thought into it: Bill10247, Claire T, Ally Cat2) Putting minimal thought into it, using a literal description: Tall Doctor, Gorgeous Goddess, Fun2Be Around The problem with these efforts, of course, is not that they’re “bad”, but rather that they’re BORING. All of them are plays off of real names, idioms or catchphrases, which is why they evoke smiles from readers. I think there was a blonde here from Daytona who mentioned the notion that someone might hide themselves while here, since they had a job in law enforcement or something else that might lead to some sort of complication.
There’s nothing unique, memorable or distinguishing. One of my favorite usernames was The Goose Whisperer, written for a client named Bobbi in 2005. perhaps that has something to do with someone's choices.
It is not due to me being a prude, is just that to me that is crass.
Sadly for me where I live there seems to be an epidemic of bad user names.
I've often wondered myself what possesses people to label themselves in such negative ways as well as genderless-ly (is that a word) There are articles written about the psychology of choosing a username for OLD which is basically a form or marketing/branding. Great Usernames are Usually Puns or Plays on Words Why do I think that usernames make a difference, when everyone knows that it’s all about the profile and photo?
Because when you’re dating online, which is an extremely competitive medium, you need every advantage you can get.
Bobbi had a farm with geese in the yard and instead of using The Horse Whisperer, which was way too overdone, we changed one word to great effect. My username, I just chose b/c it was short enough to type in every day and easy enough for me to remember.
